EST Safety Network — Partner Course | Powered by ClickSafety
Product Details
Description
This HAZWOPER 24-Hour course—offered through the EST Safety Network in partnership with ClickSafety—meetsthe initial OSHA training requirements under 29 CFR 1910.120(e) for workers, supervisors, and managers who have limited exposure to hazardous materials at HAZWOPER sites.
While workers in limited-exposure roles aren’t generally exposed to high levels of hazardous substances, they still require training to ensure compliance with OSHA safety practices and minimize injuries and health risks. This course covers common workplace hazards at HAZWOPER sites, best practices for site control, hazard communication, decontamination, material handling, and emergency response fundamentals.
If your exposure level increases and you later need 40 total hours of HAZWOPER training, you can take the 16-hour course to bridge the gap rather than starting over with the full 40-hour course.
Important: Additional Training Required
Students must also obtain additional site-specific training and at least one day of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor.

What is the difference between HAZWOPER 24-Hour and 40-Hour?
The 24-Hour course is for workers with limited exposure to hazardous waste—those who visit sites occasionally, work at fully characterized sites below exposure limits, or need fundamental awareness. The 40-Hour course is for workers who regularly engage in hazardous waste operations, use respirators, or are exposed above permissible limits. If unsure, check with your employer or site safety officer.
Can I upgrade to 40 hours later if I need to?
Yes. If your exposure level increases, take the HAZWOPER 16-Hour course after this one. Together (24 + 16 = 40), they satisfy the 40-hour requirement without starting over.
What certification do I receive?
You will receive an IACET certificate of completion documenting 2.4 CEUs and 24 contact hours of HAZWOPER classroom training under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(e).
Does completing this course fully certify me?
This course fulfills the classroom component. Full compliance also requires site-specific training and at least one day of supervised field experience. Your employer provides the additional components.
